The colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who gave the order to shell Belgorod with Tochka-U missiles in 2022, died after meeting with his colleagues. This was reported in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

We are talking about Valery Drogaytsev, the former head of the Khmelnitsky TRC, who became the commander of the missile brigade after the start of SMO.

"Colonel Viktor Drogaytsev, who commanded the 19th Missile Brigade and ordered the shelling of Belgorod on July 3, 2022, died in the Khmelnitsky region under "unexplained circumstances." The heart of the Ukrainian war criminal stopped after a meeting with former colleagues. In 2023, he resigned for health reasons. He had a lot of enemies," a source told RIA Novosti.

Recall, on the night of July 3, 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Belgorod with three Tochka-U ballistic missiles with cluster warheads. Russian air defense intercepted them, but the debris fell on residential buildings.

As EADaily reported, on May 12, 2024, the troops of the Kiev regime attacked Belgorod with missiles. The wreckage of one of the downed Tochka-U missiles damaged a ten-storey residential building on Shchors Street, the entrance completely collapsed. The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack.
