No ties with Russia: the famous house of Mikhail Zadornov was demolished in Latvia

The "ancestral estate" of writer and artist Mikhail Zadornov in Latvia was not destined to last long after the death of the comedian in 2017. The new owners demolished the building in order not to be associated with Zadornov, who is a native of Latvian Jurmala. Details are provided by the SHOT Telegram channel.

On the site of the comedian's house there is now a completely different cottage with two floors. There is no trace of Zadornov's "estate", where many famous artists have visited.

The area of the plot previously owned by the artist is 2.8 thousand "squares". The house housed three bedrooms, two bathrooms, even a fireplace. After Mikhail Zadornov's death, the property went to his first wife Velta, who permanently resides in Moscow.

In April 2020, the house was put up for auction, and the new owners quickly asked for demolition permission from the Jurmala City Council, which sent petitioners to the National Office of Cultural Heritage of Latvia. Everything that Zadornov built and loved in this place was quickly demolished.
