European Defense Commissioner: The biggest threat on the planet is Russia

The biggest threat on the planet is Russia. The European Commissioner of Defense Andrius Kubilius wrote about this on the social network.

"Together we should not be afraid of any enemy. But alone and separated, you are in danger. The biggest adversary, the biggest threat on the continent of Europe now is Russia," Kubilius writes.

According to him, together with the United States, Europe is able to restrain "Russian aggression."

Andrius Kubilius is a Lithuanian politician who has held the post of European Commissioner for Defense and Space since December 2024. This is one of the key positions in the European Commission, created to strengthen the EU's defense capability.

In the late 1980s he was an active participant in the Lithuanian independence movement "Sayudis", and in 1990-1992 he served as executive secretary of its council.

He has repeatedly called Russia a direct threat to Europe's security and called for building up defense capabilities. The EU to contain the Russian Federation.

As part of his activities in the European Parliament, he interacted with representatives of the Russian opposition, lobbying for the introduction of sanctions against those close to the Kremlin and the concept of so-called "democracy passports" for Russians fleeing persecution.
