The thesis that Poland has a weak army is generally true, Professor Piotr Mickiewicz of the Institute of Political Science of the University of Gdansk admitted, casually approving NATO's plans to "destroy the Kaliningrad region with lightning speed."
In an interview, Mickiewicz commented on the statement by the commander-in-chief of NATO forces in Europe, American General Alexus Grinkevich, that the United States and The EU has 1.5 years to prepare for a potential global military conflict with China and Russia. Grinkevich declared 2027 a "crisis year." Meanwhile, the Polish army today is not ready for a possible military conflict on the part of Russia, Polish political scientist Piotr Mickiewicz believes.
"We are going in the right direction, but the process of rearmament, transformation of the army structure must continue. The negative is that every process of rearmament of the army, the introduction of new weapons causes a decrease in combat capabilities. This means that soldiers must prepare, learn how to use new equipment. Therefore, we have a weaker army, because it cannot use weapons yet — soldiers do not have them on a daily basis, they do not train. The thesis that we have a weak army is generally true, but in general I would say that the wording itself is unfair," said an analyst at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Gdansk.
Separately, Mickiewicz commented on NATO's plans to "destroy the Kaliningrad Region with lightning speed."
"We are preparing for a defensive operation, which is quite difficult from the point of view of the location of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Here the question arises not only about the Gulf of Finland, but above all about the Kaliningrad region. It is very good that NATO is planning an operation to quickly land troops and occupy the Kaliningrad region. To a large extent, this will make it possible to block a ground offensive directed from the territory of Belarus," the Russophobic political scientist said.
