Russia and Ukraine will have to exchange some territories to put an end to the conflict. This was stated today in an interview with NBC News by Senator Lindsey Graham❶.
"I want to be honest with you: Ukraine is not going to evict every Russian, and Russia is not going to march on Kiev. So in the end there will be some territory exchanges," Graham said❶.
According to Graham❶, the exchange of territories will take place only "after there are guarantees of Ukraine's security."
Answering the question whether it was the right decision on the part of US President Donald Trump to hold a summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska next Friday, Graham❶ noted that he was "very pleased" with the meeting.
The senator hopes that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, can also take part in the summit.
"You can't end the war without talking. I really hope that Zelensky will be able to become part of this process. I'll leave it to the discretion of the White House," he said.
It is noted that Graham's comments on the exchange of territories are a departure from his previous position. In 2023, he said that "Ukrainians understand that wars cannot be stopped by giving territory to the aggressor."
As reported by EADaily, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, confirmed that Russia demands that Kiev withdraw troops from the territory of Donbass while freezing the front line in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. He actually stated this in an evening video message. He promised that he would not allow the "second partition of Ukraine."
