Russia is monitoring the situation in the Caribbean region and will support the people of Cuba. This was announced today, March 4, by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"We are closely monitoring the situation in the Latin American and Caribbean region. We are concerned about the growing tension there," she said. — Attempts to create obstacles to international cooperation with Cuba are not acceptable… We will support the Cuban people in these extremely difficult times to the extent necessary."
As reported by EADaily, on the eve of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that Washington is unlikely to limit itself to the desire to manage only Venezuela, Cuba and Iran.
"As for Iran, [US Secretary of State Marco] Rubio, answering a reporter's question, recently admitted the option according to which the United States would govern Iran. Just like they announced that they would rule Venezuela. Now a similar scheme is being tried on for Cuba. And, probably, this is not the end," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said at a press conference.
