Potash fertilizers from Belarus should go to the foreign market through Lithuania. This was stated by the special envoy of the US President John Cole.
According to him, Belarusian potash fertilizers "could be very useful to the United States."
"Potash fertilizers from Belarus should go through Lithuania, and so Europe will open up for them — up to The United States," he said.
Cole also hopes that Vilnius will demonstrate a diplomatic approach towards Minsk.
"I hope that Lithuania will agree to a bilateral dialogue at the level of deputy foreign ministers. We need to stop those things that interfere with life on both sides... I would like them to start solving the problems that arise between them so that we can open trade between the two countries, open trade with Europe and The United States," said the US Special Envoy.
Earlier, Washington lifted sanctions against Belaruskali. However, Vilnius believes that this is a "US matter" and does not plan to allow the transit of Belarusian potash fertilizers, which was banned in 2022.
