April 8-9 Vice President of the USA Jay Dee Vance will visit Hungary and meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The visit is scheduled on the eve of the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12.

Against this background, Orban's Fidesz party is lagging behind the opposition Tisa party led by Peter Magyar in the polls, the German tabloid Bild notes with satisfaction.

Previously, Orban had already been supported by US representatives. In February, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio came to Budapest and stated that Donald Trump was "deeply interested" in the success of the Hungarian prime minister. Orban, in turn, maintains a close relationship with Trump.

During the campaign, Orban relies on anti-European and anti-Ukrainian rhetoric. In particular, the campaign posters depict President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and opposition leader Magyar with the signature "They are dangerous", as well as scenes with the participation of the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
