Empty tankers could not get into The Persian Gulf on the morning of Sunday, April 12. The ships tried to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, but turned around at the last moment. Details are provided by Bloomberg.
This happened at the time of the actual breakdown of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
The tankers were approaching the strait from the Gulf of Oman and were able to reach the Iranian island of Larak. At this point, the Agios Fanourios I tanker and the Pakistani Shalamar went back. Another supermanker, Mombasa B of the VLCC class, was able to sail along the route approved by Tehran and proceeded to the Persian Gulf, as it was ahead of schedule.
It is important that Iran and Pakistan had previously received permission from Iran for passage. But the course had to be changed when negotiators in Islamabad could not come to an agreement.
EADaily previously also informed that the media write about the negotiations between the United States and Iran.
