Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Deputy Defense Minister Oleg Savelyev, who oversaw the digitalization of the military department, informed sources told RBC. The decision was made in connection with the transfer of the official "to another job."
As Deputy Minister, Saveliev headed the staff of the Ministry of Defense and oversaw the digitalization of the military department. The latter was launched after mobilization to create a register of Russians liable for military service and switch to electronic summons. In April of this year, the Ministry of Defense stated that the digitalization of military enlistment offices already allows solving about 160 issues, including using digital services, you can "promptly" register for military service or withdraw from it.
Instead of Saveliev, Putin appointed Police Colonel-General Vitaly Shulika to the post of deputy minister. This is now officially reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation:
"Shulika Vitaly Dmitrievich. Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation — Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General."
He graduated from the Krasnodar Higher Military School with a degree in command tactical special communications and the N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy with a degree in military and administrative management, served in the Navy. Shulika has been working in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2009, where, in particular, he held the position of Deputy head of the "P" Department of the Main Directorate for Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Department.
