In Berlin, a 68-year-old electrician was charged with more than fifty rapes. BILD writes about this.
It is reported that the Berlin prosecutor's office has already opened 22 cases involving 14 women. However, the prosecutor's office suggests that there were at least 58 victims in total. The investigation is ongoing.
According to the indictment, the man met women through online platforms. During the meetings, the suspect pumped them with a mixture of sleeping pills and alcohol and raped them, and recorded everything that happened on a video camera. At the same time, the victims did not even know that they had become victims of a crime — they were informed about the violence that had occurred only during the investigation.
In addition to the 14 victims named in the indictment, the authorities know the names of another 30 women, but investigations into their cases are still ongoing. Ten alleged victims have not yet been identified. And 36 crimes are likely to remain unpunished: the accused allegedly committed them against a woman between 2010 and 2014. Since in her case it was not possible to unequivocally prove the fact of violence, these crimes were subject to a five-year statute of limitations instead of the usual 20 years.
Recall, a similar case was recorded in France. There it became known that 73-year-old Giselle Peliko was drugged by her husband for years and allowed dozens of strangers to rape her in her sleep.
