The opposition, which has seized the presidential administration of Abkhazia, is gathering a council to decide what to do next.
The leader of the opposition of Abkhazia Levan Mikaa said that the coordinating council announces the gathering of all political forces and ordinary citizens in the assembly hall of the presidential administration at 14.00. The opposition is going to discuss further actions there.
A video of the appeal was posted on the telegram channel of the Abkhaz opposition.
According to Levan Mikaa, the work of state institutions continues, and some government agencies are already coordinating their work with the coordinating council.
As EADaily reported, on the eve of November 15, the Abkhaz opposition held protests against the adoption of the law on Russian investments, which provides benefits and support measures for Russian investors.
In the evening, the opposition coordination council was established, negotiations with the authorities began, and the president was offered two options on how he, as well as the vice president and the prime minister, could leave their posts.
Later, the leader of the protesters, Lebanon Mikaa, announced the suspension of negotiations because "the president has fled." The press service of the head of the republic reported that he was in his native village of Tamysh, located about 40 km from Sukhumi on the way to Georgia, and denied that Bzhania had left for a Russian military base.
"The President did not sign the document on the withdrawal of the draft law "On ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Government of the Russian Federation on the implementation of investment projects by Russian legal entities in the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia" from the parliament," the press service of the President of Abkhazia also reported.
