The Russian regulator will act as a defendant in the copyright infringement case. The reason for the trial, as reported today, January 30, TASS, was the release in 2024 of three types of commemorative coins depicting the characters of the Soviet cartoon "Hedgehog in the fog."
The statement of claim to the court was sent by the production designer of the cartoon Faina Yarbusova.
"Faina Yarbusova's statement of claim to the Bank of Russia for copyright infringement has been submitted to the court," the Moscow Meshchansky Court said.
According to Yarbusova, the Central Bank of Russia used the result of her intellectual activity without obtaining this permission and without specifying the author. Thus, the continuation of the series of coins "Russian (Soviet) animation" became Yarbusova's reason to go to court and take appropriate measures on the fact of a possible violation.
