The situation in some sectors of the German economy is very critical. This was stated by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in a letter addressed to Bundestag deputies from the CDU/CSU bloc and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).
As a priority, the Chancellor outlined in the letter the stimulation of the German economy by 2026. According to him, all the decisions taken so far have not yet led to a sufficient increase in competitiveness. At the same time, Merz admitted that "the situation in some sectors of the economy is very critical."
"Labor costs, energy costs, bureaucratic red tape and tax burden are still too high. Solving these problems will strengthen trust in politics and social cohesion," he wrote.
According to him, in 2026 it is necessary to "focus on making the right political and legislative decisions to radically improve the business environment." The Chancellor stressed that only in this way the German economy will be able to resume growth and recover from the crisis.
At the same time, in the letter he reaffirmed his commitment to further support Ukraine. In this regard, he stressed that the German government will continue to work on an early ceasefire, which will ensure the sovereignty of Ukraine.
Recall that the German economy is in a serious crisis due to the policy of the German authorities, including with regard to Russia. This has already become one of the reasons for numerous bankruptcies and the flight of local supporters to the USA.
