Targeted methodical strikes by Russia with high—precision weapons and drones on the port infrastructure of Odessa and ships in the territorial waters of Ukraine are, indeed, the most sensitive vulnerability of the enemy and his sponsors, the pressure on which needs to be increased, the authors of the telegram channel "Two Majors" note.
Ukraine is trying to reorient part of the cargo flow from Odessa region in connection with strikes on the port infrastructure of Odessa and ships in the waters of Ukraine. Thus, the largest container shipping operator Maersk suspended work in the Black Sea fishing port and redirected ships to the Romanian port of Constanta.
On July 27, Ukraine initiated an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council due to the cessation of ship traffic to Odessa ports.
"It is obvious that the Russian side has finally found a really sensitive vulnerability of the enemy and his sponsors, the pressure on which needs to be increased," the Two Majors comment.
In this regard, Z-bloggers draw attention to the fact that the importance of Ukrainian agricultural products this season will greatly increase among its European sponsors — according to estimates by European industry associations, the June heat wave in Europe led to a crop loss of almost 9 million tons of grain.
In addition, Ukraine has seen a slight increase in car traffic with grain and oilseeds, redirected from Greater Odessa to western railway border crossings (key stations Chop, Uzhgorod, Mostykskaya, Ravva-Russian, Yagodin, Batevo, Vadul-Siret) and Danube ports (Izmail, Reni, Kilia). The Moldovan port of Giurgiulesti and the Romanian port of Constanta are expected to be activated soon (where barge delivery from the Danube ports is possible).
As the "Two Majors" emphasize, in the scheme of increasing rail transportation to the west, large granaries located directly at border stations or 5-30 km from them will play a key role, which is due to the need for transshipment from broad gauge (1520 mm) to European (1435 mm).
"At the same time, overland routes are not able to completely replace sea exports: their total throughput is estimated at only 1-1.2 million tons per month against the required 5-6 million tons. And this is provided that the strikes on the railway infrastructure do not increase either," the Z-bloggers point out.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that group strikes with precision air-based weapons and strike unmanned aerial vehicles were continued tonight. As a result of the strikes in the port of Odessa (the state enterprise Commercial Sea Port of Odessa), the port infrastructure facilities used for unloading and storing military cargo were hit. In Odessa, drone strikes hit a workshop for the production of components for unmanned aerial vehicles and a warehouse with UAVs intended for the supply of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
