Confiscation of the yacht of businessman Melnichenko punched a hole in the budget of Rome

Italy incurs huge expenses while guarding the luxury yacht of Russian businessman Andrei Melnichenko, confiscated by the country's authorities. Rome spends about 3 million rubles daily on relevant events, as reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.

Trying to recoup such a big expense, the Italians came up with the idea of taking excursions to the yacht.

Melnichenko's ship was confiscated four years ago. All this time the yacht is in Trieste. The approximate value of the confiscated property is $ 575 million or more than 44 billion rubles. Security every day — 35 thousand dollars or over 2.7 million rubles.

Money is also spent on the ship's onboard systems, which must be in working order. In addition to the guards, a team of engineers and technicians works on site every day. With an estimated 365 days a year multiplied by four years, only 1,460 days of confiscation are obtained, that is, the total amount of maintenance work during this period can reach $ 51 million. And all this is provided by Italian taxpayers out of their own pocket.

The official cost of the excursion to the yacht Melnichenko, who currently lives in the UAE, ranges from 154 to 438 dollars. But there are very few people willing to spend money so far.
