The legendary French singer sang a song about Moscow on her anniversary

French singer Mireille Mathieu, who celebrated her 80th birthday on July 22, warmly remembered the grateful Russian audience and sang a song about Moscow. The audio recording of the conversation with the singer was published by TASS.

"It was wonderful, the audience was simply incomparable. This is not forgotten, because I felt such love, especially since it was the beginning of my career," Mathieu recalled her first trip to the country in 1967, when she performed with the Paul Mauriat Orchestra in Moscow, Leningrad and Kazan.

After that, the singer repeatedly came to the USSR, and then to Russia.

The singer also thanked the correspondent in Russian for congratulations on the anniversary.

"I know a few words, but mostly I sing. I think I sing well in the language of a country, I sing in 12 languages," she assured after saying the phrases "good afternoon", "good evening" and for some reason "nihao".

At the end of the conversation, Mathieu sang a fragment of the song "My Dear Capital" to the words of Mark Lisyansky and Sergey Agranyan and the music of Isaac Dunaevsky, which has been the official anthem of Moscow since 1995.
