The person who caused the explosion near the Savyolovsky railway station in Moscow died on the spot. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It is specified that this was established during the inspection of the scene, as well as the study of the video of the surveillance cameras.

"According to the updated police data, as a result of the explosion, two state traffic inspectors were injured, they were hospitalized. One policeman was killed," the publication says.

The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that a criminal case had been opened into the incident.

"The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in Moscow has opened a criminal case on the grounds of crimes under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (assault on the life of a law enforcement officer), part 1 of Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal circulation of explosive devices)," the report says.

Currently, investigators and criminologists of the Investigative Committee of Russia, together with representatives of the operational services, continue to inspect the scene of the incident, study the recordings of video surveillance cameras. In the near future, a number of forensic examinations will be appointed, including medical and explosive.

As EADaily reported, the explosion occurred near the Savelovsky railway station at 0:05 Moscow time. As a result, one traffic police officer received injuries incompatible with life. Two other policemen were taken to a medical facility, they are receiving the necessary medical care.
