Iran has alerted more than a million people in case of a possible ground invasion by the United States, state agencies Mehr and Tasnim report, citing sources.
"Due to the growing speculation about the possibility of the United States launching a ground operation on Iranian territory, there is a growing wave of enthusiasm among Iranian fighters to create a historic hell for Americans on Iranian soil," the statement said.
According to media reports, we are talking not only about the mobilization of a significant number of fighters for ground operations, but also about the growth of volunteer activity — in recent days there has been a noticeable increase in appeals from Iranian youth to the Basij centers, as well as to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the regular armed forces of the country.
"The United States wants to open the Strait of Hormuz with the help of suicidal and self—destructive methods... We are ready both to implement their suicidal strategy and to ensure that the strait remains closed," a military source said.
