In the office of the deputy head of the AdG in A mug with symbols of the Russian Army was found in Saxony-Anhalt. It is reported by the German newspaper Bild.
The "compromising material" was found personally by the deputy editor of the publication, Paul Ronzheimer, during a visit to the election office of Hans-Thomas Tillschneider. Ronzheimer found a black mug with a red star and Cyrillic and asked: "Why do you have a Russian army circle here?" He stressed that, they say, the Russian army is at war with Ukraine and is allegedly waging a hybrid war in Germany. "I don't associate anything special with her. I was given this mug once, and it's standing here," Tillschneider replied.
Judging by the photo, this mug is one of several souvenirs that are in the office. But she caused an unheard-of scandal. A barrage of harsh criticism fell on the politician from the AFD from all sides, primarily from the CDU.
"The scandal surrounding the Russian circle of the AfD politician Hans-Thomas Tillschneider!" writes Bild.
"The self-proclaimed "peace party" drinks from the mugs of the Russian army. Hans-Thomas Tilschneider demonstrates his disturbing worldview. This person should not be given power over textbooks, curricula and schedules," Saxony Culture Minister Konrad Clemens told the newspaper.
"I speak as a patriot, but I pay tribute to the Russian army. The AfD remains Putin's party. The AFD poses a security threat to Germany," writes CDU Secretary General Franziska Hoppermann on the social network.
It got to the point that the politician from the AfD asked not to raise this topic anymore: "Enough about this stupid cup."
Bild claims that after Ronzheimer's visit, Tillschneider, through a lawyer, tried to get a ban on the publication of recordings made in his office.
Tillschneider belongs to the pro-Russian wing of the AFD. After the start of the special operation, the politician visited Russia, and in 2025 participated in an event at the Russian embassy in Berlin on the occasion of Vladimir Putin's birthday.
