Stand-up comedian Dmitry Romanov, who left Russia, and then lost his Russian citizenship, told about the hardest trials during the four years of emigration. The corresponding post appeared in his telegram channel.

According to him, the first year and a half after leaving the In Russia, he was "on a stand-up tour." But then he got very tired of traveling and decided to stop.

"It turned out that emigration means you are not leaving for a better life. You're leaving a place where it's hard for you — to a place where it's even harder for you. You just don't understand it at the moment," Romanov believes .

He noted that emigration is often romanticized, expecting only the sea, the sun and croissants. In fact, it's a completely new life in which you don't understand the rules at all.

"In fact, you didn't know how to live in your country — and went to a place where you don't know how to live even more," recalls Romanov.

Gradually, various problems begin to accumulate.

"You are going through the hardest tests against the background of palm trees and good weather. You become a lover of long walks — because this is the only way to relieve your head. A lover of swimming in the sea, because I want to wash it all off. And every day you repeat to yourself that everything is fine with you — just so as not to go crazy," stated Romanov.

In emigration, a lot of difficult issues fall on a person at the same time. However, over time, there is a different feeling and understanding of why the departure was needed. Romanov concluded that he had no regrets.

As reported by EADaily, earlier Romanov said that he was scolded by a fish seller in the store for not knowing Portuguese. The seller stated that the next time Romanov[1] comes to the store, he should speak Portuguese, and recalled that the comedian lives in Portugal is already two and a half years old.

"I won't come to him again," the comedian promised.
