More than 39 thousand people who have received Russian citizenship have signed contracts for military service since 2023. This was stated by the head of the Main Military Investigation Directorate (GVSU) of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Konstantin Korpusov.
"More than 112 thousand people have been registered among those who have been granted citizenship for the first time. Over 39 thousand citizens have signed contracts for military service," he stated in an interview with TASS.
Korpusov recalled that since November 2023, together with the Ministry of Defense, work has been actively underway to register foreign citizens and stateless persons admitted to the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
"Thus, the military investigative bodies took part in the actual recruitment of about nine brigades of the ground forces, which is a significant contribution of the Investigative Committee to our victory," he said.
It should be recalled that from the first days of SMO, military investigators have been working on the front line, often at the risk of their lives, recording evidence of crimes of Ukrainian armed formations against civilians and military personnel.
