Saudi Arabia's air defense systems intercepted three attack drones launched by Iran on Sunday, the kingdom's defense ministry said.
"Three drones were intercepted and destroyed after entering the airspace of Saudi Arabia," the report said.
As the representative of the defense ministry, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, pointed out, the drones were launched from the territory of Iraq.
Saudi Arabia "reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place and will take and implement all necessary operational measures to counter any attempt to encroach on the sovereignty and security of citizens and residents of the kingdom," Al-Maliki added.
Earlier, the Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the drone attack on the UAE on Sunday, one UAV caused a fire near the Baraka nuclear power plant.
As the UAE Ministry of Defense reported, "two drones were successfully intercepted, and the third hit an electric generator outside the inner perimeter of the Baraka nuclear power plant in the Al-Dhafra area."
