Oslo did not promise to supply missiles to Kiev and finance their purchase, but only expressed readiness to do so. This was announced on July 2 by Deputy Minister of Defense of Norway Andreas Flom.

"It is not true, as VG writes, that Norway has committed itself to the supply and payment of missiles," he said in a comment for the VG newspaper, reacting to the publication of the publication.

It is noted that the text of the newspaper stated that Norway had undertaken to finance the purchase of 200 missiles for Ukraine, which, according to Kiev, were never delivered. According to the official, the Norwegian side only expressed its readiness to pay for air defense missiles if the Ukrainian side could find an opportunity to purchase them. At the same time, he stressed that due to the global shortage of modern air defense systems, it is difficult to make such purchases.
