Will Nikol pay? Rosselkhoznadzor banned the import of dairy products from Armenia

Starting from July 27, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposes restrictions on the import of dairy products from Armenia. This is reported on the agency's website.

"I oblige you to ensure control over the prevention of the import of dairy products from Armenia to The Russian Federation from 07/27/2026," the document says.

As explained in the supervisory authority, based on the results of the inspection of milk processing enterprises of the Republic of Armenia carried out from July 14 to 21, 2026, the Rosselkhoznadzor appealed to the Food Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia with a request to suspend veterinary certification of dairy products from all enterprises of Armenia to Russian recipients from July 27.

As EADaily reported, after a number of restrictive measures taken earlier by the Rosselkhoznadzor regarding agricultural products from Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan promised that he would resolve the issue and all blocked products would be purchased in the EU. Moreover, he promised to personally pay all losses to Armenian farmers. However, they never received any compensation for their losses. This caused spontaneous protests — on July 20, fishmongers blocked the Yerevan—Yeraskh road, and the next day they gathered a rally at the Armenian government in Yerevan.

Surprisingly, the opposition forces are not even trying to dissuade them from this. Although the active part of the protesting people is already ready for a riot. At the same time, the authorities are throwing political activists behind bars in batches for non-existent bribery of voters and for non-existent attempts to overthrow the government."
