Tanks worth millions in Krakow are collapsing due to rains and, according to the urban population, turn into ordinary, albeit very deep puddles. This was announced today, September 19, according to Gazeta.
After heavy rains, the reservoir in the Krakow Nova Huta collapsed. Investments worth millions of Polish zlotys did not materialize when they were supposed to fulfill their main task. Now the mayor of Krakow, Alexander Mishalsky, will have to become a scapegoat.
According to the "Newspaper of Krakow", because of the downpours that hit the Krakow at the weekend, the newly built reservoir in Nowa Huta just collapsed. It is important to note that the main objective of the investment in Folvarchna Street was to collect excess rainwater and protect the territory from flooding.
"We will explain the reasons for this event, what happened is already being analyzed," the mayor tried to justify himself
In the photos shared on social networks by the residents of Krakow, you can see the cracked openwork structure and the sagging edges of the reservoir.
"This reservoir is in Krakow on Folvarchna street. Built less than two months ago, it was supposed to protect Nova Hutu from floods. We spent a total of 11 million zlotys (2.57 million euros — EADaily) on it and another similar reservoir," Lukasz Gibala, a resident of Krakow, wrote on social networks.
"What happened during the first heavy rain? The water just flowed through the reservoir, which collapsed and left ... a puddle," the Pole continued to be indignant.
EADaily previously also reported how the Polish authorities were several days late in notifying the population in distress.
