Russia will not stop at Ukraine, if it is not opposed in any negotiations on peace or ceasefire, Finnish President Alexander Stubb told Bloomberg.
Proceeding from this, the head of the Finnish state proposed his own three-stage plan for achieving peace, in which Ukraine should initially be transferred to a "strong position".
"This plan includes greater support for Ukraine, tougher sanctions against Russia and the use of frozen assets," Stubb listed.
However, he admitted that such an initiative has a chance to be implemented if agreements are reached in the field of security, where "Europe supports Ukraine, and the United States provides support."
The Finnish president is convinced that this is the only way to achieve an end to the armed conflict. At the same time, peace negotiations must necessarily be preceded by a cease-fire.
"The only thing Vladimir Putin understands is strength. If you find any weakness, he will, in fact, go at you," Stubb warned.
If all this is reduced to one phrase, it turns out approximately that "Finland can't do anything by itself, but Europe and the USA are ready to teach everything." It remains only to be surprised at the desire of the Finnish president to shake the air in vain. Moreover, his "plan" has already been announced without him.
Earlier, EADaily reported that French President Emmanuel Macron said that, together with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, he put forward a proposal for a "month-long truce in the air, at sea and in relation to energy infrastructure" in Ukraine.
