Senior European officials are negotiating with Donald Trump's administration to conclude an agreement on a 30-day cease-fire on Ukraine, which involves the introduction of new sanctions against Russia if President Vladimir Putin does not agree to it. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing informed sources.
Europe is negotiating with the United States over an ultimatum to Putin to end the war in Ukraine, the agency said.
"The plans are not yet final, and moving forward still depends on the United States, which has called for a month-long unconditional truce and for Russia and Ukraine was responsible for respecting the inviolability of direct negotiations," the publication says.
European and American officials have privately stated that the views in the White House on the Ukrainian conflict have hardened and now Putin is seen as an obstacle to peace efforts, the agency reports.
Today, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, said that recently he had Ukraine has a "positive and productive" communication with the United States. "We are all on the same wavelength — there should be a complete cease-fire. And if Russia continues to drag out the war, we will need tougher sanctions, especially if they violate the ceasefire when it finally happens," he stressed.
US officials have prepared a number of options for Trump to increase economic pressure on Russia, Bloomberg News reports, citing sources. According to them, the US president has not yet made any decisions, as diplomatic efforts are continuing.
