In Germany it is necessary to ban prostitution, to call this occupation a profession is ridiculous and humiliating for women. This was stated by the chairman of the Bundestag Julia Kleckner, DPA news agency reports.
At the same time, she called Germany the "brothel of Europe."
"I am firmly convinced that we should finally ban prostitution and sex for money. Otherwise, when we discuss women's rights, but say that prostitution is a profession, like all other professions, it not only causes laughter, but also humiliates women," said Kleckner, quoted by TASS.
"And schoolchildren do not have practical classes" in this area, the deputy added with irony.
She noted that the legislation in force in the country does not adequately protect women. Prostitution is legal in Germany, however, according to the laws, those involved in it are required to notify about their activities, and brothels and brothels are required to obtain appropriate permits from the authorities.
