Russian State Development Corporation VEB.The Russian Federation has provided the first funds in the amount of 211 million rubles for the construction of a cross-border cable car between Blagoveshchensk and Chinese Heihe.
"WEB.The Russian Federation has opened financing for the construction of the world's first cross-border cable car that will connect Blagoveshchensk with the Chinese Heihe. The first funds in the amount of 211 million rubles were allocated for the construction of a passenger terminal. The corresponding loan agreement was signed at the end of November this year," the press service of the state corporation reported.
The cable car across the Amur River is part of a large-scale program for the development of the Far East.
"The project is being implemented within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement between the Russian Federation and China. It is included in the plan of comprehensive socio-economic development of Blagoveshchensk. In total, 17 billion rubles will be provided for construction, of which 4 billion will be concessional financing from VEB.The Russian Federation through the Ministry of Development of the Russian Far East," the state corporation said.
The project is being implemented by the ARPI company (part of the Region Group of Companies). ON THE WEB.The Russian Federation noted that to date, work has already been completed on the installation of the monolithic frame of the station, interior finishing works are being carried out, installation of engineering networks, as well as facade systems and stained glass windows; installation of cable car equipment is being carried out.
As emphasized in the message, the project will provide reliable and stable year-round transport links between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. Two cabins with a capacity of 110 people will run on two independent lines.
"The implementation of the project will give the Amur Region more than 60 new jobs, and revenues to the regional budget will amount to about 10.7 billion rubles. It is planned to complete the work in the third quarter of 2026. It is expected that by 2030 the flow of foreign tourists to the capital of the Amur Region will grow threefold, to 918 thousand people per year, " the press service added.
