The author of the AI cover of the song "Gray Night" performed by Kanye West began to receive dozens of offers from Russian producers. At the same time, the man left Russia in 2022 and condemns the special military operation, the telegram channel Mash reports.
It is specified that August Septemberov is 36—year-old Dmitry Stepanov from Izhevsk. He used to work for a travel company, was fond of football and dabbled in betting. After SMO began, he moved to Nice, where he began providing housing for Ukrainian refugees. Return to He does not plan Russia.
At the same time, after the track generated by him blew up social networks, the author of the AI content receives mountains of contracts from Russian and foreign producers.
"He did not refuse the offers and is now studying them in order to earn money. At the same time, he is actively fighting for the track and accuses the ex-director of "Tender May" Andrei Razin is accused of stealing intellectual property and illegal monetization," the report says.
According to the Baza telegram channel, the AI cover has not yet brought a penny to its creator. At the same time, the general director of the Tender May studio, Andrei Razin, simply downloaded the song and posted it on the sites without permission, where Bad Style and Tender May are listed as performers. According to Stepanov, Razin promotes the track at all venues as his own, recorded himself as a composer and says that this is "their" song with the performers.
The creator of the viral version of "Gray Night" offered Razin to share the proceeds from the track, but in response, the producer blacklisted him. The producer also blocked the journalist, refusing to comment on the situation.
"The dispute is complicated by a long-standing conflict over the rights to the original "Grey Night". The court decided that they belong to the family of Yuri Shatunov. But Razin still considers himself the copyright holder," the telegram channel claims.
As reported by EADaily, a cover version of the hit "Gray Night" (1995) by the band "Tender May" generated using AI (artificial intelligence) topped the world's top track recognition service Shazam.
The track is called Silver Night and is stylized to the performance of the scandalous American rapper and producer Kanye West (Ye). The creator of the track took a real video recording from the rapper's concert on April 3, and his generated voice, supported by fans, performed a slow version of the song "Gray Night" in English. The effect turned out to be as if Ye himself sang a cover of "Grey Night" with the powerful support of 80 thousand spectators of his concert, while the rapper is standing on the moon.
