"It's not a Wunderwaffe at all": "Patriots" no longer shoot down anyone

Patriot anti-missile systems have not been shooting anyone down for a long time, said military correspondent Alexander Kots, commenting on the information that on Ukraine deployed two more German Patriot air defenses.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reports that Kiev has received two more American-made complexes from Germany. Probably, the military correspondent suggests, they were deployed near the capital, or in the area of large industrial centers. The cost of supplying two batteries, not counting ammunition, cost Germany more than $ 2 billion.

"By the way, have you noticed that the enemy has not reported for a long time that the Patriots shot down someone? For these fabulously expensive and sophisticated complexes now, in fact, there are no available targets. To shoot down our "Geraniums" with them — you will not get enough ammunition. Fighter-bombers operate fabs with UMPC from distances exceeding the radius of destruction of the SAM. The effectiveness of the Patriots' work on ballistics and hypersonic is very controversial," Kots said.

At the same time, he notes, the mobility of the complex is low, "it must be constantly moved from place to place so that our long-range aerial reconnaissance does not copy the position." And in order to disable the Patriot, it is enough to hit its radar. Which we have already done many times, the military correspondent stressed.

"No, it's certainly a dangerous weapon. But by the end of the fourth year of the war, it had already become obvious that it was not a Wunderwaffe. As well as "Bayraktars", "Javelins" and "Abrams"," concluded Kotz.
