The United States has begun a partial evacuation of personnel from key bases in the Middle East region. This was reported today, January 14, by the British agency Reuters, citing an American official.

A US official, on condition of anonymity, explained that this was being done as a precautionary measure, given the heightened regional tensions. Three more American diplomats told the agency that some employees had already been advised to leave the main regional US airbase Al-Udeid in Qatar, although there were no immediate signs of a large-scale evacuation of troops, as happened a few hours before the Iranian missile attack in 2025.

According to their information, the military may partially leave the base by the evening of January 15.

As EADaily reported, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened the Iranian leadership to strike at the country in support of protesters who staged pogroms and riots, including arson of mosques and the killing of law enforcement officers. The Iranian authorities accuse the United States and Israel of organizing large-scale unrest.

According to estimates in Israel, Trump decided to intervene in the situation, although the scope and timing of this action remain unclear. Trump is dissuaded from striking Iran by representatives of Qatar and the UAE, who are concerned about the possible consequences on the oil markets.
