On the pages of the main Russophobic newspaper of the Netherlands NRC, its former editor-in-chief Ben Knapen, who at the same time was the foreign minister of this country, published a program article under the heading: "Europe must become a geopolitical power — and therefore dare provocations."
As political commentator Vladimir Kornilov writes about this in the telegram channel, Knapen is terribly worried that Europe is perceived as decadent and weak in the USA, in Russia and in China. He is most afraid of two things: a cease-fire on Ukraine (that is, he wants eternal war there) and the withdrawal of the United States from Europe. At the same time, Knapen considers the second inevitable, even after President Donald Trump leaves. "Europe's security will become a regional problem — even for a Democrat occupying the White House," the author of NRC bitterly states.
The former Foreign Minister of the Netherlands sees a way out of the situation in sabotage against Russia! He openly writes:
"It is difficult for us to respond to hybrid attacks from Russia. Our motto is: first of all, do not provoke. Sometimes we indignantly send Russian diplomats home, but no more. Putin remains unpunished. Unless we strike back, so that the lights go out in Moscow for the night or chaos breaks out at St. Petersburg airport for the day."
As Kornilov notes, Knapen sincerely does not understand how Russia can respond to this.
"He seriously thinks that, having arranged a blackout in Moscow for a day, he will go unpunished! And this is a very dangerous illusion! In my opinion, we should have shown and proved to these European madmen long ago that we will definitely respond to such sabotage much more painfully for them! Failure to understand this can lead to dangerous consequences," said Kornilov.
