A visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected in Russia this year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"In 2026, we are waiting for Prime Minister Modi to visit Russia," the Foreign Minister said in a video message to the participants and organizers of the international conference "Russia and India: towards a new agenda of bilateral relations," without specifying a time frame.
Lavrov stressed the role of a trusting dialogue between the two countries at the highest level.
"Following the visit of the President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin in New Delhi in December last year confirmed the consonance of the strategic goals of Russia and India, a solid package of documents was adopted," the head of Russian diplomacy recalled.
