It's time to go to Iran with boots on: the United States is rapidly burning through its arms stocks

American military experts are horrified by the pace of burning through Pentagon assets in the Middle East. Political scientist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his telegram channel.

"The night attack by Iranian drones with the destruction of the E-3 AWACS reconnaissance aircraft and KC-135 tankers highlighted the depletion of US military resources," the expert notes.

According to him, there were once more than thirty E-3 aircraft in service with the US Air Force. By the end of Barack Obama's cadence, half of them were written off due to the high cost of maintenance. The oldest of them are now 50 years old, and the youngest are 30. Since 1992, new E-3 AWACS have not been produced, and the air fleet is decreasing.

Now only half of the reconnaissance aircraft are capable of performing combat missions, almost all of them - six units — were based in Saudi Arabia. "If the Iranians had been luckier, they could have completely blinded the Americans with one attack. After all, before that, they had already destroyed the radar and ground-based dome radars of the United States for billions of dollars. And in the absence of AWACS aircraft, it would be much more difficult to conduct operations in Europe and the Middle East," Dudakov believes.

He notes that one AWACS costs $ 500 million. They were supposed to be replaced by E-7 Wedgetail for 1.2 billion each, but Donald Trump's team chose to cancel the contracts last year. It is assumed that the money saved will be used to build the Golden Dome missile defense system, "if it ever appears at all," the political scientist writes.

"The situation in other areas is no better. The Houthis shot down 20 MQ-9 Reaper drones, Iran — at least 12 more. This is almost 20% of the entire Pentagon arsenal. 10-12 Arleigh Burke destroyers located in the region have almost completely used up their stocks of Tomahawk missiles. Almost all Patriot and THAAD batteries in the Middle East are out of order. The arsenals of precision missiles are running out. It's time to arrange a ground operation to finally burn out your military potential in the Middle East chaos," Dudakov says ironically.
