An official who oversaw the seizure of livestock from residents of the Novosibirsk region was found dead.

In the Novosibirsk region, where cattle were massively seized for slaughter in February —March, the 43-year-old head of the department for the organization of antiepizootic, antiparasitic and quarantine measures of the regional veterinary department, Sergei Tura, was found shot dead.

The powers of the department headed by the Tour included, among other things, measures to organize quarantine and removal of livestock in the foci of diseases with pasteurellosis.

Today, on April 29, an obituary was posted on the website of the regional veterinary administration, in which it is reported that Sergey Viktorovich Tur passed away. Farewell to him will take place on May 1 in Novosibirsk in the building of the funeral service on Kropotkin Street.

A check is being carried out on the fact of the Tour's death.

Sources of the Siberian Express and BFM-Novosibirsk said that the Tour was found shot dead in his own car. According to one version of the security forces, it could have been suicide.

Shortly before the incident, checks began on his department. At the same time, the wife of the Tour reported that her husband's heart could not stand it:

"He died yesterday, his heart failed. It's related to work, directly related to it. Great moral and physical load, great responsibility."

The woman added that some time ago her husband went on sick leave.

"The 43-year-old head of the quarantine department of the veterinary service of the region was found dead in his house with signs of suicide. According to our publication, investigators do not see a criminal component," writes TC "Base".

As EADaily reported, the slaughter of livestock in private farms caused mass outrage, the situation went beyond the region. Residents tried to get explanations from the Minister of Agriculture of the Novosibirsk region Andrei Shindelov, but he ignored them. Later, the minister was dismissed.
