Peskov assessed the reaction in the world to the launch of the Sarmat

The lively reaction with which the press greeted the launch of the Sarmat strategic missile system suggests that its significance is understood. This was stated to journalists by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

"In general, this is such a lively reaction, it says that the meaning of Sarmat in the world is still understandable," he said.

As EADaily reported, earlier, the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Sergei Karakaev, reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the successful test of the Sarmat missile system. According to official data, all tasks have been completed, and the specified characteristics have been confirmed. The Russian Armed Forces plan to put the first regiment equipped with this ICBM on combat duty by the end of the year.

Putin pointed out that the Sarmat, the most powerful missile system in the world, is four times more powerful than the most productive Western counterparts. The range of its use exceeds 35 thousand km. The rocket can move not only along a ballistic, but also along a suborbital trajectory, overcoming all existing and promising missile defense systems.
