The ambassadors of Great Britain, Germany and France in Moscow at a meeting at the Russian Foreign Ministry (last week) voiced Europe's erroneous conclusions that Russia is losing and Ukraine is winning, and therefore ultimatums can be put forward to the Russian side, but these calculations are illusory. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a press conference following a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
"It was about what role our Western colleagues play — and The United States and the Europeans are involved in resolving those issues that go far beyond, in fact, the Ukrainian conflict and relate to common security principles and in Europe, and at the global level," the minister said.
"We [Moscow and Minsk] have a common position: the Europeans in the current situation are making erroneous conclusions that Russia is losing now, and Ukraine is winning, so you can put forward ultimatums in the hope that Russia will accept these ultimatums. In this regard, the President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin has already spoken out during his recent speeches at various events," Lavrov said.
"These calculations, of course, are completely unfit for purposes, and they are illusory, which was confirmed during the visit of the three ambassadors of Britain, France and Germany to our ministry. My deputy talked to them. They have not brought anything new, but they are obsessively trying to offer their services, obviously not wanting to stay away from the process," the Russian Foreign Minister added.
As EADaily reported, on June 11, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin received the ambassadors of France, Great Britain and Germany, Nicolas de Riviera, Nigel Casey and Alexander Lambsdorf, pointing out to them the destructive policy of their countries, which is aimed at encouraging Kiev to continue the war against Moscow. This is stated in the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry following the meeting at the request of Western diplomats.
