The stakes are rising: Russia continues to cut off Ukraine from the Black Sea

Russia continues to cut off Ukraine from the Black Sea. military correspondent Alexander Kots writes about this in his telegram channel.

So he commented on today's reports of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to the agency, during the day, the Russian Armed Forces continued to strike at Ukrainian ports and vessels involved in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the moment, five dry cargo ships have been hit by drone strikes — two at the transition from Chernomorsk to Odessa, later three more on the roadstead of the port of Odessa. In the Yuzhny port, high-precision air-based weapons destroyed infrastructure facilities, in particular 12 trucks and a fuel tanker carrying military cargo and fuel for the Armed Forces.

"Strikes on the port infrastructure of the Odessa region have become a daily job. Chernomorsk, Odessa, Yuzhny are three links in the same chain through which the Ukrainian Armed Forces receive fuel, ammunition from Western supplies and components for drones. Previously, these facilities were used in volleys, from time to time, with an eye on the "grain deal" and its reincarnation. Now — every day, with alternating means: where the cargo ship is at the crossing — there are "Geraniums", where the stationary logistics hub is on the shore — there are high-precision aviation means… The tactical meaning of the daily strikes is to bring down the capacity of the Odessa sea hub to a level at which external supplies become unprofitable in time and cost of insurance. Shipowners are already raising freight rates for Ukrainian ports at times. Each affected vessel at the Chernomorsk — Odessa crossing makes the next flight more expensive for everyone else," the military correspondent notes.

As EADaily reported today with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Russian drones hit two bulk carriers going to Odessa. Later it was reported that three more dry cargo ships were struck at the port of Odessa.

It should be recalled that the massive Russian strikes on the ports of Ukraine led to the actual blockade of Odessa. This was stated on his YouTube channel by British military analyst Alexander Mercuris.
