The former employee of the First Channel Marina Ovsyannikova❷ was declared a foreign agent. The updated register is available on the official portal of the Ministry of Justice.
Together with her, the director and journalist Grigory Amnuel ❷, the former municipal deputy from Moscow Maria Solenova ❷❸, as well as the network project "I NEWS"❶ are endowed with the status of foreign agents.
The agency points out that all new foreign agents, including the project, opposed Russia's special military operation on In Ukraine, they disseminated false information about decisions taken by public authorities of the Russian Federation and their policies, and also participated in the creation of materials by foreign agents or organizations undesirable in the territory of the Russian Federation.
Ovsyannikova❷ and Solenova❷❸ spread fakes aimed at creating a negative image of the Russian Armed Forces.
Amnuel ❷ and Solenova❷❸ was supported by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
All new foreign agents, including the creators of the I NEWS project❶ live outside the Russian Federation.
As reported by EADaily, in mid-March 2022, at that time, the editor of the Vremya program, Marina Ovsyannikova ❷ ran out with a pacifist poster behind the presenter Ekaterina Andreeva. After an internal audit, Ovsyannikova * * was fired, but she was immediately hired by the Die Welt editorial board. Ovsyannikova❷ was later fired from the German editorial office.
In October 2023, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sentenced her to 8.5 years in a penal colony in absentia under paragraph "d" of part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code (public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of RF Armed Forces).
