Poland should not close the borders with Belarus and endanger national security. This is stated in Alexander Lukashenko's congratulation to the people of Poland on the National Independence Day.
"In these difficult times, the values of the sovereignty of the state and the freedom of the people, who create their future on the basis of national identity, historical wisdom and support for mutually respectful relations, are especially perceptibly perceived," the message of greetings reads.
The President of Belarus is convinced that the Poles see and well understand the importance of interpersonal contacts and cooperation with Minsk, friendliness and trust, preservation of the common Christian and cultural heritage.
"Good neighborliness is our priceless gift, which should not be risked under any circumstances: to close borders and endanger national security. That is why Minsk, demonstrating its commitment to the principles of peaceful coexistence, introduced a visa—free entry procedure for residents of a number of European countries, which has already been used by more than 120 thousand Polish citizens," Lukashenko stressed.
He also wished the people of Poland harmony, cloudless skies and confidence in the future, and invited everyone to a hospitable Belarus.
It should be recalled that relations between Warsaw and Minsk deteriorated after 2020, when the Polish authorities supported the Belarusian opposition and its attempt to carry out a coup d'etat. In addition, Poland has closed almost all border crossings on the border with Belarus and refuses direct dialogue with the neighboring republic.
