US President Donald Trump has dealt a significant blow to relations, but Europe will work on it. This was stated by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, Euronews reports.

We are talking about the duties that Trump threatened to impose against European countries.

"Transatlantic relations really took a big hit this week. But this year we have already realized that this relationship is not what it used to be. The EU does not want to throw 80 years of good relations with the United States into the trash, and we want to work on this," Callas said, quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to Callas, the European Union should demonstrate to Trump "strength and readiness to defend its interests." The head of the European diplomacy noted that Europe should also send a similar signal to its allies and opponents.

Meanwhile, the US president said on the Truth Social social network aboard his plane on the way home from Davos that the structure of the future agreement on Greenland is being worked out and will be "incredible" for the United States.

"Heading back to Washington. We had a wonderful time in Davos. Structure (agreements. — Ed.) on Greenland is in development and will be incredible for the United States," Trump writes.

He also noted that the "Peace Council" to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip, whose charter was signed on the sidelines of the WEF, has become "something special" that the world has not seen yet. "So many good things are happening!" the American leader summed up.
