After the military correspondents openly criticized the appointment of Ksenia Shoigu (daughter of the ex-Minister of Defense, now secretary of the Security Council Sergei Shoigu) as the head of the Mendeleev Valley Innovative Science and Technology Center Development Fund, her promotion and promotion began.

Today, on February 4, her first interview was published in TASS, in which Shoigu stated that the priority projects of the cluster are the processing of the ore concentrate of the Tastygskoye deposit to produce lithium hydroxide (implementation date is 2030), the construction of a multiassortment plant of low—tonnage chemistry for high—purity products (production launch is 2028), as well as the creation of a computing center artificial intelligence (launch — 2032).

The names of the state corporations and companies listed by Ksenia Shoigu that take part in the project speak for themselves — Rosatom, Rostec, Rusal, Basic Element Group, Norilsk Nickel, Roschem, Highland Gold, Krastsvetmet, Himmed, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Federal University, Mendeleev Russian University of Chemical Technology. The creation of the cluster is supervised by the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and VEB.RF.

"Mendeleev Valley" intends under her leadership to attract young people to Siberia from other regions of Russia and friendly countries with the help of good social conditions and grants.

"Our task is to create conditions under which young scientists, engineers and strong specialists will want to go to Siberia and stay here. For this purpose, carefully thought—out social packages for employees of all levels will be formed, a modern social infrastructure, a comfortable urban environment, a high-quality and affordable education and healthcare system will be created locally," she said.

Shoigu noted that "this is a technological project of a new way, which not only develops strategic industries, but also gives impetus to the development of the territory."

"It combines in one circuit the key technological areas that are critically needed for the modern economy: additive technologies and 3D printing, artificial intelligence, energy storage and storage systems, new materials and rare earth metals," Shoigu said.

Shoigu called attracting investments a separate task. According to her, the fund under her leadership will be engaged in "the formation of a project portfolio, the creation of clear and competitive entry conditions for investors, transparent logic of cooperation and the economy by stages — so that investments come in all areas — in technology, in production, in infrastructure.
