The former head of the federal institution "Roszhilcomplex" Valery Abramenkov was arrested in the case of fraud related to the housing fund of the Ministry of Defense in the amount of about 1 billion rubles. This was announced today, February 5, according to the TFR website.
The heads of seven contracting companies were also detained: Inna Mil, Ilya Volk and Nijada Huseynova. The court sent Abramenkov to jail, and the rest of the defendants will be given a measure of restraint later — petitions have already been sent. Investigators are conducting searches in the offices and at the place of residence of the suspects, finding out all the circumstances of the case.
From 2021 to 2024, the defendants, according to investigators, concluded contracts for servicing real estate at inflated prices, misleading employees of the supervisory board of Roszhilcomplex.
This is not the first criminal case against employees of the institution — a year ago, military investigators opened a case against the head of the Yuzhny branch of FSAU Roszhilcomplex, Sergei Bgatov. He was suspected of exceeding his official authority in providing subsidies, which led to damage to the Ministry of Defense in ₽19 million.
In September 2025, a case was opened against the former deputy director of the Department of Property (DIO) of the Ministry of Defense Daniil Sukhanov — he was accused of corruption and abuse of power. And his former boss, Dmitry Kurakin, was sentenced to 17 years of strict regime last year for participating in these frauds, TC Readovka reminds.
