The Cuban Interior Ministry announced the identification of the organizer of the provocative sabotage with a boat arriving from the United States, which led to an armed clash between terrorists and border guards.

The relevant information was announced by the second deputy head of the Department for Investigating Crimes against State Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Cuba, Colonel Victor Alvarez Valle.

According to him, the organizer of the sabotage is the head of the anti-government "November 30 Movement" Maritza Lugo Fernandez, who permanently resides in The United States.

According to Cuban law enforcement officers, some of the sabotage participants detained on the boat were also in the "November 30 Movement."

They contributed their own money, looked for sources of financing for the movement and were engaged in organizational work. Two detainees are listed on the national wanted list and the national list of terrorists.

The plan of the provocation was to cause public unrest, Valle informed. The conspirators were confident that they would be able to cause social chaos and achieve the overthrow of power.

According to the representative of the Cuban state security agencies, during the preparation of the operation in Cuba, there was an accomplice who was supposed to take the sabotage group.

Earlier, the Cuban authorities said that an American-flagged speedboat carrying an arsenal of weapons and ten terrorists was neutralized in territorial waters.

As a result of the collision, four people on the American ship were killed, six more were injured. The commander of the Cuban border vessel was also injured.

Earlier, EADaily reported that Duniel Hernandez Santos was detained in Cuba, who, according to the investigation, was specially abandoned from the USA to meet and provide for this group.
