The Canonical Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) allegedly stole the body of the head of the schismatic UOC Filaret (Denisenko). This was stated by Archbishop of Sumy UOC Nicodemus.
According to Nicodemus, the "bishops" of the UOC, who arrived in Kiev to elect a new locum tenens, were not allowed into the Vladimir Cathedral, where Filaret had previously served and which was the main church for the Kiev Patriarchate.
"According to Nikodim, contrary to Filaret's will and testament, the OCU first "appropriated" his body, and then independently performed the funeral rite," the newspaper writes "Страна.иа ".
It is noted that in his spiritual testament Filaret forbade the priests of the OCU to bury themselves. However, now the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has actually taken over the organization of Filaret's funeral. His coffin is displayed in the Vladimir Cathedral, the priests of the OCU are burying him.
As EADaily reported, the self-proclaimed Patriarch Filaret (Mikhail Denisenko), the head of the schismatic Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) of the Kiev Patriarchate, died in Kiev at the age of 97.
