The reusable anti-aircraft drone Bird of Prey ("Bird of Prey") manufactured by the Federal Republic of Germany acts as a fighter and is aimed at well-proven in the SMO zone on Ukraine has Russian jet drones "Geranium" and similar UAVs. The authors of the telegram channel "Two Majors" drew attention to this.

"Airbus shows its reusable anti-aircraft drone called Bird of Prey ("Bird of Prey"). This is a jet drone made according to the familiar German aerodynamic scheme and armed with Estonian Mark 1 missiles, which are being distributed throughout Europe. Bird of Prey is designed to destroy Geraniums and the like, acting in fact as a fighter," military correspondents write.

The demonstration flight took place just nine months after the launch of the project, the "Two Majors" indicate. The Bird of Prey prototype deployed in flight is based on a modified Airbus Do-DT25 drone and has a wingspan of 2.5 meters, a length of 3.1 meters and a maximum take-off weight of 160 kg. The prototype was equipped with 4 missiles, and the production version will be able to carry up to 8.

This year, its tests will continue, and they are already preparing to produce it by next year, but they still need to find customers, Z-bloggers add.

"Our Geraniums were previously seen in the sky over Ukraine with R-60 missiles. Recently, they even began to hang up their models to scare off enemy fighter aircraft,"the Two Majors note, explaining that in Europe they are working towards countering drones with drones, and not expensive airplanes with a crew on board.

Kirill Fedorov, the author of the TV channel "War History Weapons," found the "Bird of Prey" on the web, the authors of the channel indicate.

EADaily adds that the Russian Armed Forces first attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a jet version of the Geranium drone (its speed was more than 500 km/h) in January 2024. According to military correspondent Alexander Sladkov, the jet version of the Geranium drone weighs a ton, and the warhead of this version of the UAV reaches a mass of 300 kg.
