Medvedev announced the number of Russians who have signed a contract to be sent to SMO this year

127 thousand people have already signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2026, another 10 thousand have become volunteers. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev at the educational marathon "Knowledge. The first ones."

He noted that in the matter of recruitment The Russian Armed Forces proceed from the considerations presented by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

"And last year, 450 thousand people came to serve for the united group of forces as a result of all military contracts. That's all. And this year, as of today, I looked just yesterday, I will call this figure: 127 thousand of our citizens, our boys and girls, have signed a contract for military service. Another 10 thousand signed a contract for service, but in voluntary formations. In fact, this is also a contract service, but it is less connected with the Ministry of Defense, although, in fact, on the other hand, these guys perform the same tasks," Medvedev said.
