The former player of FC Rubin Kazan, a native of Gorlovka, Sergei Rebrov, paid part of the bail for the ex-head of Zelensky's office, Andrei Ermak, he paid 30 million hryvnia (about 50 million rubles) to free the Ukrainian corrupt official. This is reported by TC "Tribune".

According to information from the Ukrainian media, the ex-football player and ex-coach of the national team of Ukraine has been friends with Yermak for a long time. This is evidenced, at least, by the general photos from Rebrov's wedding. They have a common friend — Nikolai Tishchenko. But despite nepotism and a long and unwavering friendship, it was not possible to pay the full amount of the deposit of 140 million hryvnia (~240 million).

Sergey Rebrov signed a contract with FC Rubin in February 2008, as part of which he became the champion of Russia. In July 2009, Rebrov announced his retirement as a professional football player, and on June 7, 2023, he headed the Ukrainian national team, signing a contract until 2026. On April 22, Rebrov resigned from the post of head coach of the national team of Ukraine by mutual agreement of the parties.

As reported by EADaily, the night before, Andriy Yermak, who resigned back in November 2025 due to suspicion of corruption, was arrested in the case of the legalization of UAH 460 million during construction in the Kiev region.
